A Message from ScanSource Chairman and CEO Mike Baur regarding COVID-19

While ScanSource has never endured a global pandemic such as this, our industry has withstood many challenging and volatile situations, including recessions, market instability and the aftermath of September 11th. Certainly, when the health and safety of humans is impacted, it brings a new level of concern.

Above all, we need to move through this unprecedented time together. Even through social distancing and the transition to a remote workforce, our communities have come together in support of one another. Our thoughts go out to all who have been impacted by this virus. We continue to be amazed at the unwavering bravery of our healthcare providers, as they work to care for those who are sick.

Our teams, like yours, have been working diligently to ensure our employees, partners and suppliers remain healthy and safe. Beginning last week, we asked our employees in our offices across the globe to start working remotely.  We have been testing our systems and processes to ensure they would be fully operational as we moved to a remote environment. Be assured, all teams and all areas of the company are functioning at full capacity, including our Intelisys Commissions teams and processes, ScanSource Financial Services teams and support, Supplier business services, Customer Service, Sales and all other departments.

Our employees have been extremely efficient in making this a seamless transition. We are taking full advantage of the collaboration solutions many of our suppliers offer. Our teams are fully available to support you.

Our first priority is protecting the health of our employees. I’m especially proud of the efforts of our distribution center team. We are taking extra steps to clean and sanitize the facility, while also ensuring our teams have the support they need to care for themselves and their families. These extra precautionary measures may impact our service levels, resulting in longer shipping times. We certainly appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to continue to deliver the level of service you have come to expect from us. We will be working with our suppliers to ensure we have adequate inventory on hand for your customers, and encourage our suppliers to assist us in meeting increased demand for the items you need for your customers, especially headsets for remote workers.

As we shared last week, we have implemented a travel restriction policy for our employees. In addition, we cancelled or postponed all in-person events being held on or before April 30, 2020. We will continue to reevaluate our plans and will make adjustments where necessary.

It’s times like this when we truly understand the value of our partnerships. Not for the business, but for the relationships – together as one community supporting each other. Please know we are here for you. I would personally be glad to hear from you if we can assist you or your company in any way. Please email me at ceo@scansource.com with your suggestions, ideas and any problems we can help you solve.

May you and yours stay well.
